CONTACT US

CONTACT US

WRITTEN COMMS REIGN SUPREME

The best way to get in touch regarding most questions is via our main email intrigued@dualitypole.com as we check this regularly.

If you have an urgent question about a class that is imminent email staff@dualitypole.com - instructors that are on that evening will check this before their class commences and this is your best bet if you need staff on site to see your message close to the start time. You can also direct message us on instagram @dualitypole. We're pretty quick on this, the only caveat being if neither Mimi and Chloe are teaching/working at the time you need a response, you may have to wait, as they are the only ones who have access. There is usually one of them around though!

NOT ALWAYS THERE WHEN YOU CALL

Yes, technically, we are just a phone call away, but we may not answer. Calls are not answered during studio open hours as staff are busy teaching and communicating with people on site. You may call, but be prepared to leave a voicemail. We will absolutely call you back when we can, however we don't recommend calling for urgent matters.

GROUP CHAT

Our students really are the gold standard of humans and are usually happy to help out. If you need general advice, feel free to post in the facebook group where there are literally hundreds of people that may see your post and know the answer. Sharing is caring!

Our broadcast channel on instagram is also a great communication tool to be part of. If we need to communicate general info, we'll often just pop it in there. Join it and switch on those notifications - we won't overuse it, promise!

GROOVIO

You can also use our booking system to communicate with us! Ask questions directly to us in the private chat on the homepage OR post a question to your classmates in the group chat - another great way to collaborate and connect to other students.

WHAT DO I BRING?

WHAT DO I BRING?

FOR EVERY CLASS

  • Two towels (one for your hot bod and one to clean down your equipment).

  • Something to drink from. We have a water filter to refill but if you forget a bottle this will be useless. We don't sell single-use plastic bottles as we are conscious of our beautiful planet. We do however have a very cute, reusable drink bottle available to buy if you're desperate; a purchase you will not regret!

  • We provide exercise mats for warm up and sell mat towels if you like to keep it fresh! You're welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.

PLUSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

FOR LEVELLED POLE CLASSES + TRICKS CLASSES (Level 1 - 6, Spin Virgin, High Tricks, 3-4 Tricks, Invert Tech, 6 Virgin, etc...)

  • You can wear whatever you damn well please, but make sure it's functional. For any levelled classes you need your legs bare to grip the pole. If you are Level 1 and feeling shy, shorts will suffice. The general guide is the higher the level, the more skin you need to bare. We welcome the scantily clad at any level though - don't be shy!

  • Pleaser shoes are always a yes from us. If you don't have these/want to wear them that's ok too and you can go barefoot. If you have shoe envy, we sell them, come see us at reception!

  • Grip! This is not provided by us (except for newbies, we will share with you so you can try it out). We always have Griptinite in stock and sometimes some other varieties (see our display in reception), but if you like something specific or are a fan of hairspray/shaving cream don't forget to BYO!

FOR SUPPLEMENTARY CLASSES (Strip, Strip Virgin, Chair, Chair Virgin, Floor Virgin, Inter Floor, Advanced Floor, Tease, Chole)

  • Basically anything that isn't a level and isn't Kiki or Unravel, you will probably want knee pads, which lucky for you, we sell at reception!

  • We also recommend Pleaser shoes (we sell these too).

  • Check Groovio for classes like Strip and Tease where we will communicate what's required for the routine this season.

MAT BASED CLASSES (Kiki & Unravel)

  • We're talking about your pole besties, Kiki and Unravel. Wear something you feel comfortable to sweat and move in! No grip required, just make sure your comfy and supported.

STUDIO ACCESS

STUDIO ACCESS

Please download the 'KISI' app on your phone; you'll receive a separate email with access before your first class. You will only need this if you are more than 15 minutes early or a few minutes late; please ensure you set this up and see your instructor or email us if you have questions.

Access to the studio begins 15 minutes prior to the first class of the day; 5:15pm on weekdays, 8:45am on Saturdays and 9:45am on Sundays. The door is automatically unlocked 15 minutes before a class start time until 1 minute after; you do not need to use the app during this time, just push the door!

As has always been our policy, if you are 5 minutes late or more to class, you are too late and will forfeit the class. We understand sometimes traffic is terrible, a train is delayed or a meeting goes over, but it's important that you do not miss warm up to ensure your muscles are warm and ready and that the class is not disrupted. There will be no access to the level 1 door between 5 minutes and 15 minutes into class.

For example, if you're in a 7:30pm class, the studio will be open from 7:15-7:31pm.

You will have Kisi access from 6:45 - 7:34:59pm.

The door will then be locked from any access from 7:35:00pm - 7:45pm.

If you are more than 5 minutes late, it will be considered a no show. We ask that you respect and understand this policy (no one will be able to answer the doorbell or phone calls at these times). We can see access logs with times for Kisi, so please remember this prior to reaching out letting us know the door wasn't working before that 5 minute grace period when you know it was 7 minutes past... If you have further questions, email us or speak to an instructor next time you’re in.

WHERE DO
I GO?

WHERE DO I GO?

We are located on Level 1 of 88 Kippax St, Surry Hills. Head through the double doors where you'll be met with a small flight of stairs. Look to your right, you'll see a corridor. Head through that corridor and you'll find our VERY recognisable steps. Take a snap, it's a moment.

Once you reach the top, you'll find our reception. Please arrive anytime 15 minutes before your class, you're welcome to wait in reception during that time.

We have bathroom facilities and a shower available to you, as well as 2 curtained quick-change rooms. There are two studios, check Groovio or the timetable on our website to see which studio your class is in. Your instructor will let you into the studio 5 minutes prior to your class start time and guide you through the space.

ATTENDANCE

ATTENDANCE

You can cancel your booked class at any time through the Groovio App. Don't know how? Go here. Please note that you must cancel at least 4 hours before your class to receive a make up credit - you can use this credit to book another class within the same season only. We do not transfer unused credits to future seasons. If you're looking for what class you can catch up in, head to the next section. If you cancel with less than 4 hours notice, you will forfeit the class. We encourage you to cancel in the app, even if you are beyond the cut off for receiving a catch up class. If you do not cancel in the app before your class starts you will be counted as a no show which incurs a $20 penalty.

GROOVIO

Head here for FAQs, a custom ChatGPT and video tutorials on how to navigate Groovio. Still got questions? Hit us up on the chat function through the app, or send us an email (just make sure you've checked that page first)!

PRACTICE TIME

You'll also find on our timetable we offer PRACTICE TIME! If you are doing 3 or more classes, 1 x practice time per week is on us! If not, it's $20 (or $15 cash) for enrolled students, and $30 (or $25 cash) for any non-enrolled students. Bookings are essential through the Groovio app - make sure you select your enrolled student package at the checkout for your discount!

If you put your name down and can no longer make it, please ensure you have removed your booking prior to the cut off (same cut offs as listed above apply). If you do not show up and fail to remove your booking before the cut off your card will be charged for the session.

If you want to pay cash, use the code IWANNAPAYCASH and pay on arrival at reception. You must pay cash on the day - if you arrive at a time where no one is on reception, do not leave until you have paid, otherwise you will be charged the full amount via card online or next time you visit the studio.

I WANT MORE

A LITTLE EXTRA (like us)

Duality is a shared space. To keep the studio safe, inclusive, and a genuinely nice place to be, we ask everyone to follow the code below. It’s not scary, it’s not strict, it’s just how we keep the vibe right.

Respect & Inclusivity

Duality is a body-neutral space. We don’t centre weight loss, body size, or appearance-based goals. Comments about bodies can be triggering, even when well-intended. Let’s focus on strength, skill, movement, and the cool things your body can do.

We are proudly inclusive. Duality is a sex-worker positive, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent-friendly space. Discrimination, judgement, or weird vibes of any kind are not welcome here. Be kind, be curious, be respectful.

Respect your instructor. Please don’t teach, cue, or correct other students during class or practice time. Your instructor is trained to keep everyone safe. You, however, are here to learn, move, and vibe.

If something doesn’t feel right, talk to us. We welcome feedback and concerns and would always prefer to address issues directly and constructively. Public posts, comments, or reviews that are misleading, exaggerated, or harmful don’t help resolve things and can impact real people behind the scenes. Let’s keep communication fair, honest, and human.

What you learn here stays here. Duality classes are for personal practice and enjoyment. Teaching movements, sequences, choreography, or methods learned at Duality - whether in person, online, within Duality or in other studios - is not permitted. That includes “just showing a friend” or running a sneaky demo. Our instructors’ work is their intellectual property, and we take that seriously.

Studio Etiquette

Respect the room. Listen to your instructor and avoid shouting across the space. Even helpful comments can be distracting, and nobody loves surprise coaching.

Clean up after yourself. If you leave a sweaty patch, wipe it down. Clean poles, mats, weights, and floors after use, and take your rubbish with you. Yes, we do notice the mentos wrappers.

Keep it cute. Store your belongings in the storage boxes provided. It looks better, feels better, and films better.

Benches are for butts. Reception seating is for people, not bags. Let’s not bring train-station energy into the studio.

Hands off the mirrors. Please don’t touch them, lean on them, or throw shoes or grip at them. They are very nice and very expensive.

Shoes where they belong. Neatly on the shoe rack. Not scattered like you’ve just rage-kicked them off. And no shoes in the studio. Ever.

Phones & Filming

You’re welcome to film your progress. However, phones during class should be used for filming only. Messaging, scrolling, or taking calls mid-class takes you out of the moment and out of the room.

Be mindful when filming. Always ask for consent if others may appear in your video. Not everyone wants to be an accidental background character in your reel. Instructors may call out appropriate filming times.

Community Care

If you’re sick, please stay home. Rest, recover, and come back when you’re feeling good. Your body - and everyone else’s - will thank you.

Please respect instructor boundaries outside of class. Class questions, bookings, and admin enquiries should go through the studio’s official channels.

Final Notes

Classes start on time. Late arrivals may not be permitted to enter, as safety comes first.

If this code isn’t followed, staff may step in or, if needed, ask a student to leave class. We’d rather keep things cute, so let’s all do our part.

Thanks for helping keep Duality clean, safe, and drama-free.
