Not to worry, as long as you give us enough notice. We have a fabulous catch up system for you in place, which allows you to catch your class up within the 8 week term. To read more about booking terms and conditions, please direct your attention here.
You’re in luck, we’ve got a whole section of our website to you. Better than a mixtape? We think yes, check it out here.
Whatever you damn well please! If you're just starting out we recommend for pole dance classes that you wear shorts which don’t cover the back of your knee. Be it all fitness wear or your finest lingerie - it’s welcome at Duality. The more skin you have to stick to the pole, the better. You may also want to bring along some knee pads if your knees are sensitive. For floor, chair, dance and strip classes, we recommend knee pads.
For Kiki and Unravel, we recommend fitness wear that you feel comfortable moving around in!
All of the classes at Duality (apart from Kiki and Unravel) are designed for 'stripper shoes' - If you have some, please bring them along! These aren't necessary however, especially for lower levels. If you're attending a dance class without shoes, you may want to bring socks so you can slide on the floor!
We welcome anyone over the age of 18. There is no age limit because, well, age is a state of mind.
We welcome all gender identities at Duality. Upon enrolling, we will ask how you would like to be identified. If this should change, please let us know.
We have a Duality Code to ensure everybody is respectful of all people. Read more about it here.
Check out our class guide here to see where you might sit amongst our levels. If you’ve danced before but have never pole danced, we still need you to start at level 1 to ensure you understand all foundation grips, names and moves.
Fabulous, right? In pole, chair and floor classes our instructors wear heels because at Duality, we’re all about dipping into that sensual side. When you buckle up those heels, you get to become whoever you want to be. If you’d prefer not to, barefoot or socks are perfect for all classes. Please place your ‘outside’ shoes on the shoe rack provided.
We do a shoe order every season with Pleaser, so if you'd like to buy a pair, we extend our wholesale discounts to you!
Leave that attitude at the door, because every body has ability. Our beginners programs are made for people who have no experience, and we absolutely don’t expect you to come in knowing your way around the apparatus. No question is too silly, no body is incapable.
In all classes, you’ll participate in a warm up which includes conditioning and flexibility focused movements which prepare your body for what it’s about to do! After, in levelled classes, you enter the skills portion of the class. This is where you learn the tricks for the week, and revise any moves from previous weeks. After this, you’ll learn a park outline which you build on every week to form a full routine.
In dance classes, after warm up you’ll dive straight into your choreography. You’ll learn a different routine every week.
In Kiki and Unravel, you’ll dive head first into a cardio warm up before entering the strength and conditioning portion of the class. Small muscle groups are worked using body weight to tone. After you’re sweating and (just a little) on fire, you’ll move into the stretch portion of the class, where you’ll work towards back and shoulder flexibility, as well as (everybody’s favourite goal) splits!
For the comfort and privacy of the other participating members of your classes we don’t allow other people to watch classes. We know how excited you are to share your skills, and our week 8 performance night allows you to share this with your family and friends.
We are an over 18's venue, because of the nature of our classes and content. For the comfort of all patrons, please, do not bring your children along.
We are a sex worker friendly, LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent friendly space - with strong allyship to these communities. Should visitors and patrons not share this same sentiment, they will be asked to leave.
Apart from your gorgeous self, a towel for yourself, a towel for your pole or chair and mat and water bottle. We’re committed to the environment, so we don’t sell single use plastic bottles at the studio.
Never fear (we like rhyming) - we have a plethora of signature seasonal Duality gear for sale. Visit the studio while we're refreshing our online store to Duality to the streets. We do a Pleaser shoe order once a season where give enrolled clients a huge discount.
